How much does it cost to fix a computer?

This depends on the problem. Most problems are reasonably simple so an experienced engineer can resolve them quickly and hence cheaply. These days the costs of computer components are at rock bottom so even when parts are required we can usually deliver something cost effective.

It also depends on the age of the computer. Certainly anything over 4 years old is quite unlikely to be repairable inside a sensible budget. Furthermore old circuit boards become “brittle” and carrying out part replacements are likely to cause more faults. In fact the speed of really old equipment and the inefficiency of compatible tools can render a repair unrealistic.

Cambridge Computer Support delivers fixed price guarantees which provide assurance of cost control for the customer. For example simple faults like a loose cable can be fixed within a simple fault diagnosis charge at £35+VAT. However if the customer needs advanced services like clean room data recovery and raid array rebuilding the price can be in the tens of thousands.

A successful factory re-installation depends on properly functioning hardware.  (Cambridge Computer Support reserves the right to charge extra for the security service if the factory re-installation is delayed by poor availability of driver software.)
